Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley and Prince George's County
Executive Jack Johnson signed a deal to create the independent board
to find a healthcare company to take over Prince George's Hospital
Center and three other medical facilities currently being run by Dimensions Healthcare System, The
seven-member appointed board is a task force created to find a new
owner of the hospital system. The board will begin conducting a
bidding process to sell the health care system. The bidding process
is required to be completed prior to the 2009 Legislative session.
The members of the Prince George's Hospital Authority are:
Kenneth Glover, chair, senior vice president of state and local
banking at PNC Bank and formerly served as Chief Administrative
Officer during a previous administration.
Donald Wilson, vice-chair, director of University of Maryland's
School of Medicine Program in Minority Health and Health Disparities
Education and Research
Stanley Brown, attorney in Largo and is the People’s Zoning Counsel
for Prince George’s County
Andrea Leahy Fuchek, former assistant U.S. Attorney and associate
county attorney for Prince George's County
Thomas Himler, served as director, office of management and budget,
for Prince George's County
Karen Johnson Shaheed, vice president and general counsel for Bowie
State University
Joseph Wright, executive director of the Child Health Advocacy
Institute at Children's National Medical Center in D.C.
