General Services Division Spot Bid Sales were implemented in February of 1998 as a way of increasing revenue generated through the sale of abandoned, forfeited and surplus County property.

Proceeds from the sale of forfeited property are used to help fund the "Crime Solvers Fund" in Prince George's County. Proceeds from other items go into the County's general fund.

The sales feature items ranging from electronic equipment, jewelry, and sporting equipment to hand and power tools and clothing.
